HOW CAN BACTERIA HARM TEETH & GUMS?
The bacteria in plaque produce acid that can
eat right through tooth enamel (the hard,
protective coating) opening the way for
cavities to develop. Plaque also irritates
the gums, which can lead to gum disease,
which in its early stages is called
"gingivitis".
BRUSHING & FLOSSING IS ESSENTIAL
Plaque is easy to control if you follow
these simple steps...
Brush your teeth at least twice a day. Use a
soft-bristled toothbrush, which is
comfortable and reaches all areas of your
mouth easily. Use a toothpaste that contains
fluoride to help protect your teeth from
decay.
Floss regularly everyday to clean between
your teeth. If you don't floss, 40% of your
tooth surfaces will remain untouched causing
a plaque build-up.
